Faculty openings in the Physical Science and Engineering Division of King Abdullah University of Science and Technology



We are currently seeking outstanding candidates to join our faculty team within the Physical Science and Engineering Division (PSE) to lead pioneering research in the following key areas:

  1. Geological structures and multiphase reactive flow behaviors - geothermal energy, extraction, and energy storage
  2. Computational science and engineering in materials, energy, and chemical processes
  3. Air pollution and atmospheric chemistry
  4. Polymer chemistry and engineering
  5. Sustainability science and engineering


Ideal candidates should demonstrate a readiness to address these topics through a multi-disciplinary approach and to engage with different programs and research initiatives across the university’s divisions.

Furthermore, we expect research proposals to align closely with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and to contribute significantly to the objectives outlined in Saudi Vision 2030. This alignment should be explicitly demonstrated by emphasizing one or more of KAUST's Research, Development, and Innovation (RDI) priorities, which include:

The PSE Division comprises seven Degree Programs: Applied Physics, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Earth Science and Engineering, Energy Resources and Petroleum Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.
