Dean Chak Chan welcomes PSE students at KAUST

22 August, 2023

The PSE Academic Orientation 2023-24 occurred yesterday, August 21st. PSE Dean Chak Chan welcomed a diverse assembly of 129 new students from 22 different nations worldwide. These enthusiastic newcomers have embarked on their academic voyage at KAUST to pursue either a Master's or a Ph.D. degree in one of the seven academic programs offered by the Physical Science and Engineering Division (PSE).

A yearly ritual, KAUST reserves two weeks every August for a comprehensive blend of cultural and academic orientation to help students navigate the new environment. This period is meticulously curated and organized to familiarize fresh scholars with Saudi culture and the university's facilities and opportunities.

The orientation serves as an invaluable resource for the new KAUST students that get the opportunity to meet for the first time the team of professionals dedicated to assisting them during their time at the university. The support goes beyond the studies and includes visas, documentation, accommodations, and family-related provisions, such as free schooling, sports amenities, and international health insurance for students and their families.

As they embark on this transformative journey, a warm and hearty welcome is extended to all the new students from the PSE Office of the Dean.
