KAUST Founding Student Shines in China

Marie-Jean received his BS from Ecole Polytechnique in 2004 and earned his MS degree at both Ecole Polytechnique and Institut de Mecanique des Fluids de Toulouse (UMFT) in 2008.After graduating he became an Aeronautics Analyst in the French Embassy in Beijing for 6 months before deciding to pursue a PhD in mechanical engineering.

He came to KAUST as a founding student in 2009 and was the first PhD Candidate in Professor Thoroddsen's High-Speed Fluids Imaging Lab.  He graduated in 2013 and moved to the Netherlands where he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Twente. He joined Xi'an Jiaotong University in China as a tenure track professor in 2015.

He has recently been selected by the University for their '10 Young Scholars of Distinction Award' and is the first foreign teacher to be selected for this award.
