Professor Qiaoqiang Gan has been appointed Editor in Chief (EiC)
of the IEEE Journal of Selected Topics for Quantum Electronics.
Professor Qiaoqiang Gan joined KAUST in February 2022 and is
part of the Material Science and Engineering
Program. He has been named Editor in Chief (EiC) of the IEEE Journal of
Selected Topics for Quantum Electronics, starting April 1st, 2022.
“The IEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Quantum
Electronics is published six times a year. Published
papers fall within the broad field of science and technology of quantum
electronics of either a device, subsystem, or system-oriented nature.”
Research
Prof. Gan will lead the research
of Sustainability and Photonics Energy Research (SuPER) Lab. His research focuses on
applying the power of nanomaterial and structure processing and engineering
for:
(i) investigating fundamental light-matter interaction within
extreme dimensions,
(ii) developing advanced manufacturing methods, and
(iii) demonstrating biomedical sensing, energy and environmental
sustainability applications enabled by these unique optical phenomena. In
particular, his research activities aimed to bridge the gaps between
fundamental investigation, application development and technology transfer.
