Mechanical Engineering Seminar

Engineering Creativity Ideation

Abstract

Creativity is one learnable foundation of innovation in engineering design, problem-solving and scientific discovery. Yet we infrequently consider the details. We will explore ideas, techniques and perspectives to open discussion on this critical ability. Among other things, we will review the mind wetware, and provide methods for stimulating and collaborating with the “black box” on your shoulders. You will share in lessons-learned from personal interaction with Nobel-prizewinning physicist Richard Feynman at Caltech, and others. Be prepared to interact and experience creativity in many applications.
