In this presentation, I will share a glance of my education and work journey, starting from graduation from high school, early career at SABIC, higher education studies at Carnegie Mellon University, transition to SABIC Technology Center at KAUST, and appointment as a team leader, and work thereafter.
The second part of the presentation would be centered on the impact of research to the industry. Research has made substantial contributions in varying degrees in many industries, as it is an essential element that would directly contribute to economic development, commercial, and business opportunities and creation. For businesses, Research & Development can lead to innovations, in terms of new products and solutions, improved processes, and new offering to existing/new customers. These innovations can result in additional profits and cost optimization, thus an important avenue to grow and expand the business. At SABIC, we are committed to fulfilling the requirements of an expanding and dynamic markets and supporting customers’ needs with innovative, sustainable, efficient, and reliable solutions. Therefore and in this seminar, several winning projects will be introduced, varied from sustainability driven, process development, competencies, as well as products and applications development that lead to business creation and commercialization! Some of these examples would include projects focusing on developing high performing polymers and composites, novel additives and blends, and sustainable conversion of waste to worth.
Dr. Mohammed A. Tayeb, Senior Manager, Advanced Application Department, Polymer and Materials Science, SABIC Technology and Innovation.
