Abstract:
Self-immolative polymers (SIPs) are the essential tool for different purposes such as drug carriers, selfhealing materials and sensory materials. Recently more and more research utilize SIPs for signalamplification on biomedical research, but they still face the following issues: 1. Much time is needed for signal amplification. 2. Control of the self-immolative degradation in bio-system is very difficult. Hence, this research develops a novel self-immolative biopolymeric system which combines a trigger (Alginatelyase), a repeat unit (Sodium alginate) and an output (Rhodamine b) which is then enclosed in gold vesicles. After exposure to the laser, the gold vesicles are broken down, the output is released and the chain reaction commences.
