Welcome to the Chemistry Program

PROGRAM CHAIR:

Yoji Kobayashi, Ph.D.

Associate Professor of Chemistry

Building 3, Level 4, Room 4277

The Chemistry Program is home to world-class professors conducting cutting-edge research on the forefronts of polymers, catalysis, and nanotechnology technology development. Our mission is to graduate highly knowledgeable and trained chemists who can excel in academic, industrial, and managerial settings. We aim to publish highly impactful research papers and patents that will strengthen the Chemistry Program's international ranking among the top worldwide and empower immediate industrial translation to support the Kingdom's 2030 Vision.

We invite you to explore our website to learn more about graduate study programs and faculty research groups. Please follow the Chemistry students' X (Twitter) account @chemsstudents for the most recent updates.

M.Sc. Degree

The Master's Degree (M.Sc.) is awarded upon successful completion of a minimum of 36 credit hours. Students are expected to complete the M.Sc. degree within 3 to 4 semesters (including one summer semester, i.e., 12 to 18 months in total). The M.Sc. degree is offered for traditional full-time students and could be a terminal M.Sc., as well as a gateway to the Ph.D. program. All M.Sc. students are expected to complete a capstone experience that includes thesis preparation and oral defense. The non-thesis option is not supported in the Chem Program.
