As part of his new role, he will work closely with local communities and organizations to inspire the next generation of Saudi scientists and engineers.

"It’s a great opportunity for me to live and work in Saudi Arabia, a country with a rich history and culture, to explore the many facets of Saudi culture, learn about its historical heritage, and engage with the local community. As a scientist and educator, I am committed to contributing to the country's future and advancing its goals of becoming a leader in science and technology.

Dr. Chan's mandate will start on May 1st, 2023, after a welcome meeting with the PSE Faculty and the Office of the Dean's staff.

"I would like to express my sincere thanks to Professor Gilles Lubineau for his outstanding leadership as Interim Dean of the Physical Sciences and Engineering Division. I look forward to building upon his accomplishments and working with him and the rest of the Faculty to further advance the goals of KAUST."
