Not a stranger to award-winning work, Jagdish also received the Outstanding Student Poster and Pico (OSPP) award from the European Geosciences Union (EGU) in 2016 for his presentation "Distance and azimuthal dependence of ground-motion variability"  CLICK HERE ​

In his dissertation under the direction of Professor P. Martin Mai, Jagdish sought to understand ground-shaking during large earthquakes by considering the detailed physics of the earthquake-rupture process as well as the intricacies of seismic wave propagation in the three-dimensional structure of the Earth.

Jagdish graduated from KAUST in Spring 2017. In thinking back about his time at KAUST, Jagdish recalls the inspiring academic environment and the availability of excellent facilities that provided a place to nurture his innovative research. He feels that KAUST was not only a university for his graduate studies, but a home where he could grow scientifically as well as personally and could mature from a student into an independent scientist.

He is now a post-doctoral scholar at University of Canterbury (New Zealand), working with Prof. Brendon Bradley on earthquake simulations and shaking predictions for earthquake scenarios in New Zealand.​​
