Professor Hadjichristidis was presented with the Award on 14 July 2016 at the International Warwick Polymer Conference 2016 (attended by around 600 participants) where he had been invited to give a plenary talk.
The Medal is awarded to scientists, from any country, who are recognised internationally for their continued, outstanding achievements in the field of polymer science. 
The Pure and Applied Macromolecular Chemistry Group (Macro Group UK), is a joint interest group of SCI and the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC).
The Group collectively has over 1500 members drawn from academia and industry and spans the entire career range from research student to senior positions in industry and academia.
In bringing together practitioners at every level they are able to play an important role in influencing both the strength and direction of polymer chemistry.
