The Material Science and Engineering Program is designed to equip students with fundamental and applied knowledge of materials. We prepare students to tackle grand challenges in sustainability and renewable energy, nanotechnology and nano electronics, biomaterials, materials characterization and low-power computing.

​Can be a terminal graduate degree or may serve as a gateway to the Ph.D. program. The M.S. degree typically takes 18 months to complete, and is offered to both traditional full-time students and part-time students; for example, industry-sponsored students on semester-long company leaves.

​​Typically a three- to four-year post-master's degree. The Ph.D., involves original research, culminating in a research dissertation.

Mazen is here to address students academic questions, evaluate their progress, and update them on current university policies and procedures. He is the first point of contact for all academic life and KAUST-related questions or issues. He is the liaison between students and faculty, the Registrar Office, Graduate Affairs, Admissions, the Associate Dean and the Dean.  ​​
