mechanical engineering program research
Faculty conduct research in the following broad areas of research: structures and mechanics of solids, fluid dynamics, thermal sciences, combustion, energy, and control and dynamics. Specialized faculty laboratories include an integrated environment dedicated to advanced composite materials, the latest high-tech instrumentation for experiments in fluid mechanics, cutting-edge equipment and facilities for combustion diagnostics, and experiment capabilities for reactive flow modeling.
Generous and secured research funding frees our faculty and researchers to focus on long-term innovative research ideas and development.
Current Research areas include:
Combustion diagnostics | Computational and experimental fluid dynamics |
Computational mechanics for solids and structures | Future fuels technologies |
Internal combustion engines | Micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) |
Non-linear dynamics | Smart and multifunctional materials |
