Research in Physical Science & Engineering

Through the KAUST endowment, we provide flexible and sustained support to pursue long-term research and scientific goals.  Our Faculty are empowered and encouraged to aim high and investigate important questions with passion and freedom.  Few universities enjoy this level of consistent support.

The mission of the Division is to create knowledge pertaining to matter at all scales -nano, meso and macro- and in all forms, from bulk, to divided colloids and fluids; as well as to create knowledge about the in​teraction of matter with external stimuli in order to design new materials and technologies. 

​Affiliated Research Centers:

Our Faculty may affiliate with any of the research centers at KAUST, particularly those affiliated with the Division.  The KAUST research centers provide outstanding shared facilities to affiliated faculty and their partners.  Interdisciplinary collaborations between research centers motivate scientific breakthroughs and innovations, inspiring center researchers to work together to develop disruptive technologies ready for technology transfer to industry.​
